From non-violence, follow Gandhiji's other precepts including that of harmony or universal brotherhood. It means harmonious relationships among all human beings, of human beings with other living beings, with all existence and also harmony within oneself. Mahatma, Episode 1: Non-violence
Переглядів 18 тис.6 років тому
Gandhiji had said, 'Ahimsa is the means, Truth is the end.' Non-violence to him meant not only a negative state of harmlessness but a positive state of love, of being good even to the evildoer of resisting the wrong-doer through truthfulness, humility, tolerance, compassion, and kindness. It is not a method of coercion but that of conversion, of faith in human goodness, of right means for the j...

Mahatma, Episode 6: Trusteeship
Переглядів 9 тис.6 років тому
Gandhiji's theory of Trusteeship, or social ownership, was the most definitive doctrine of his political economy. It was his alternative to the capitalist order, which leads to inequality, deprivation and violence, as well as to state ownership under communism, which leads to the loss of individual freedom and initiative. He paraphrased the basic concept from the Ishopanishad thus: 'Earn your c...
Mahatma, Episode 5: Co-operation

Co-operation is essential for the practice of nonviolence and harmony. Even during the 'Noncooperation' movement, Gandhiji would cooperate with the authorities in the conduct of their duties. H is various satyagraha movements became possible only because of co-operation among large masses of people. The Salt Satyagraha in 1930 was the best example of mass participation, including that by women,...

Mahatma, Episode 3: Simplicity

Simplicity too is an essential part of Gandhian non-violent conduct. To Gandhiji, it was the essence of universality. Luxurious living is an impossible proposition for any society as a whole. He, therefore, insisted that all scriptures have given to humankind the ideal of 'plain living and high thinking'. He emphasized that there was beauty and art in simplicity and it did not require money to ...

Ou r Democracy is in danger. Our Democracy is the only way to EVER achieve our goal of socialism and or communism. Democracy will destroy everything in its path.. The States have been "disenfranchised " . The State has lost its sovereignty to the mob. The Senate is supposed to represent the state. The mob, and popular vote, is represented by the house, not the Senate.

Yes- plenty of aggression and brutality by the Japanese in WWII. But disturbing similarities in the military buildup and preparation for war by the Japanese in the 1930s and those of the Chinese Communists now. The PRC is now the greatest threat to the US (and its neighbors).

Things were not a whole lot better, at least in the south, as late as 1967. I was in basic training and AIT at Fort McClellan, Alabama, from July-Dec 1967. I had become friends with a black girl, and at Thanksgiving she invited me and four other girls to her home for a homemade Thanksgiving dinner. Three of us were white, three were black. Her father picked us up that morning and took us to their family home in town. There were nine children in her family and all but the two youngest were serving active duty in one branch or another of the military, so her parents understood how hard it is for people to be away from family during the holidays. We had a great time, ate one of the best turkey dinners of my life, played out in the yard with her two younger sisters and then her father drove us back to the base. After we were about half way there, her father spoke up, sounding nervous, and said we were being followed by a deputy sheriff, and then a short time later, by another one. We all got very nervous, since one of the first things they had warned us about before our first pass into Aniston, was not to ever get caught in town with a colored man if we were under 21 years old. They said we would be arrested, and that if we were under 21, which all of us were, they would not release us to the Army, but our parents would have to travel there to bail us out of jail. It had not occurred to any of us that would include the father of one of us. We did get back to the base without getting arrested, but we found out that her parents had had to put up with crosses being burned in their front yard for months after that - all for the crime of treating white girls like family. That had been my personal introduction to racism in the South, 1967 style. That was 22 years after the end of WWII.

Why didn't the FBI Notify the Secret Service or vice versa of the failed attempt on JFK's life in Chicago? Maybe because they busted the conspirators in Chicago, and because a couple of them got away, they canceled the motorcade in Chicago. But shouldn't they have notified Dallas of the threat?

The Warren Report that was compiled by a shamed CIA Director and a corrupt FBI Director and a future POTUS who actually had the gall to change the location of the back wound in the official Autopsy so that the Commission would agree with the findings. 888 pages, 26 volumes with a conclusion that it HAD TO BE OSWALD AND ONLY OSWALD, ignoring dozens of witnesses who conflicted with the single shooter fairytale, including doctors, nurses, and the hundreds of people who saw smoke or smelled gun powder or who saw the brains splatter the back of the Limo and the front of the Secret Service Limo or the patrol officers. They (the Warren Commission) were not conducting an Investigation. They were instead attempting to save the LBJ Presidency.

General Marshall was pivotal as a pencil-pusher; as a veteran, I have so much respect for him. You gotta' have respect for a General who had, almost, daily presence with FDR during the really bad years of America (the Depression, the rise of the Third Reich, War Word II, etc.). and his time with General Pershing must have been very instructive. General Marshall was much like Eisenhower, a soldier's soldier.🤨

My grandfather Emilo Hernandez Martinez served in the 32nd fighting in Aitape, New Guinea , Morotai, Leyte . He was wounded when his company was surrounded on a hill and he and several others volunteered to bring ammunition through jap lines in broad daylight. He made 10 trips through the jap lines but on his last run he got hit by a jap machine gunner and went down into a ditch until a rescue party arrived at night. They were stuck in jap lines until dawn when they made their way to battalion. It still blows my mind they he made it through all of that.

What a class act. A couple of quick distinctions right off the bat: he doesn’t believe in the labels left and right, that is a European continental term, especially the use of the word leftist. This is not an American construct but a misuse of the term . Secondly he does not believe in trickle down economics, this is coming from 1952; unfortunately, many politicians on the Republican side are still trying to pedal the nonsense of trickle down economics and trying to slap labels on people. Oh and the guy was one of the wealthiest men in the U.S.

He's the least uninteresting person ive ever heard speak on it, particularly with his father having handled the material. He's a horrible interview, he's saying nothing, and very nonchalant about it. We're talking about other beings in the Universe, something that changes our entire understanding of the Universe. Most people who are interviewed regarding this topic are also pretty unremarkable in their emotions about speaking on the subject. I don't get it. Truth be told we don't need crashed UFOS to know that we're not the only living intelligent, just take a look at those intricate Crop formations. Forget those two nuts saying they made all of the crop circles, these formations have messages we need to take heed to. Personally, id welcome other beings no matter what they look like, because humans really are troubled entities who don't deserve to be on this beautiful planet. There's got to be a species more enlightened than freaking humans. All we humans do is hate and war with each other that's it and that's all we do

My grandfather fought with the rainbow division, too. He was at Dachau. He interviewed townspeople who did business or used slave labor from Dachau. He was a peaceful, great loving man, but he told me it was the only time he wanted to physically hurt people. You could smell the camp from the office he used for interviews, they all lied and said they had no idea what was happening. It's the only thing he told me about the war. He was 90, and he said it with tears in his eyes. It gives me goosebumps just writing about it.

The polished Kennedys helped conceal the very shadowy, racial story of the Democrats, WHOSE PARTY were the racist Confederates of the Civil War; of the KU KLUX KLAN; and OPPONENTS of the Civil Rights legislation actually introduced by GOP'S Eisenhower. LBJ and ALL SOUTHERN DEMOCRATS blocked federal Civil rights -- until it was politically opportune in the mid-sixties. See US history.
